We have the following nine departments:
Periodontics
The treatment and prevention of diseases of gums is done here. Scaling using ultrasonic devices, root planing, various gingival and periodontal flap surgeries are conducted here.
Orthodontics
Here the restoration of decayed teeth, direct and indirect pulp capping, root canal therapy, apicectomies, bleaching of teeth, etc. is done.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
This is the department where extractions of badly decayed/mobile teeth and roots, removal of impacted wisdom teeth, cysts and tumors of the oral cavity, are performed. This department also deals with the treatment of fractures of the jaws by bone plating or arch bar fixation.
Oral Medicine and Radiology
This department is for the initial diagnosis of oral diseases and preparation of the treatment plan for the patient. This department deals with taking various X-rays (IOPA, OPG, Cephalograms) of the oral and dental diseases.
Community Dentistry
This department conducts dental check up camps and surveys using mobile dental vans for motivating and educating patients for better oral hygiene and educate them about the harmful effects of bad oral habits (tobacco abuse, etc. at community level in rural and urban areas) and lack of dental care.
Prosthodontics
This department deals with replacement of missing teeth and their surrounding tissues. Here the fabrication of complete dentures, removable partial dentures, crown and bridge prosthesis, implants as well as maxillofacial prosthesis (eye, ear, nose, finger prosthesis and obturators, etc.) is done.
Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
Here the restoration of decayed teeth direct and indirect pulp capping, root canal therapy, apicectomies, bleaching of teeth, etc. is carried out.
Paedodontics and Preventive Dentistry
The department deals with the prevention and treatment of dental diseases.
Oral Pathology
The diagnosis of various oral lesions by taking tissue samples (biopsy) from patients and preparing slides and observing them under microscopes is done here.
